DCSRP
Dutch Cyber Security Research Paper Award Work Group
DCSRP aims at giving maximum visibility to our researchers and their work towards the broad cybersecurity NL community (including but not limited to academia, industry, government).
Celebrate the diverse NL cybersecurity research talent
The award is an opportunity to get together and as a community recognize and celebrate the great research talent in cybersecurity, recognizing the multiple facets of cybersecurity research: from technical angles to multidisciplinary ones.
Increase international visibility of NL cybersecurity research
The award involves an international jury of worldwide recognized experts and researchers representing multiple themes within cybersecurity research. A further opportunity to put NL cybersecrity research in the spotlight for highly respected members of the international cybersecurity community.
Since 2015, the Dutch Cyber Security Best Research Paper (DCSRP) Award has been presented annually. It has grown into a prestigious and highly visible recognition. In an open competition, all academic cybersecurity research groups at Dutch universities and knowledge institutes can nominate their best recent papers. The award features two tracks: technical and multidisciplinary. International expert committees review the submissions and select the top three in each track. Winners receive a prestigious certificate, a photo opportunity, and publicity on the ACCSS website and other media.
The working group has the following responsibilities:
1. Coordinate with the help of ACCSS, SIG-CS, and any other relevant entity at the discretion of the chairs, an NL-wide call for nominations of publicly-available research in cybersecurity whereby the main contributors are or were employed at the time of publication in a Dutch research institution.
2. identify a panel of independent expert judges to evaluate nominations. This panel should be diverse in expertise and reflect the range of perspectives included in the call for nominations.
3. Coordinate with ACCSS for a venue where the award ceremony can be organized.
4. Coordinate the expert panel to identify the winner and runner-up(s) to the award, and document decisions and their motivations.
5. Publish the motivations for the final decisions in coordination with ACCSS on the ACCSS website.
6. Identify chair(s) for the next round and revise/document best-practice for the coming year’s procedure as needed.
Organization
The working group is managed by a board of chairs that takes care of the organization, advertising, composition of the international jury, and handing over the certificates on behalf of ACCSS. The chairs board composition renovates every year in a rotating fashion. At least a member from the previous year’s board participates in and chairs the next year’ board. Board members can have a tenure of no more than two consecutive cycles. Current members of the DCSRP chair board are listed below.
