A grim prospect: Cybersurveillance is booming worldwide

A report by the American think tank Atlantic Council paints a picture of the ways in which Western companies are selling cyberweapons and surveillance technology internationally. The increasing overlap between the arms trade and the secretive surveillance industry threatens to damage the national security of Western countries and will create the potential for even more abuse, the report, which is discussed by MIT Technology Review, said.
