Access for Dutch Researchers to IMPACT

The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) of the Ministry of Security and Justice of the Netherlands signed an agreement with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) which allows the Dutch (cybersecurity) research community to make use of a distributed research data repository, supported by a streamlined legal framework and coordinated distribution of datasets, called IMPACT. IMPACT is short for Information Marketplace for Policy and Analysis of Cyber-risk & Trust.

This repository directly addresses an acknowledged need by offering large-scale, real-world security-related datasets to the research community.

  • The IMPACT information marketplace is supported by the U.S. Dept. of Homeland Security to improve data sharing between data producers and (scientific) researchers.
  • Data producers, such as companies and universities, can provide (anonymised) data to the international research community.
  • Researchers can access repositories containing real-world data, such as DNS, BGP routing, IDS and firewall, sinkhole and other network traffic flows.

Procedure to get access

Register at for access to the marketplace. Applicants may include any researchers currently engaged in (scientific) cyber security research and innovation. Access for Dutch researchers is coordinated with the National Cyber Security Centre (, through the Dutch Approval Coordinator.
